Christina Babcock Gessler, Ph.D., Handweaver

For my early years during and after my Ph.D. in Genetics, I traveled from the tip of Baja California, Mexico to the forests of Penticton, British Columbia studying chromosome inversions in small fruit flies called Drosophila.

Now, I have settled in the Land of Enchantment where I enjoy hand-weaving, knitting, and dyeing with silks, natural fibers, bamboo, and steel yarns.

The natural beauty surrounding me at home in Santa Fe, NM inspires my work.
